Technical College System of Georgia to Assume Management of Georgia VECTR Center

Georgia鈥檚 public higher education systems, the University System of Georgia (USG) and the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), are committed to serving our nation鈥檚 active-duty service men and women, veterans聽and their families. Georgia鈥檚 public higher education institutions are frequently recognized in independent national rankings for their commitment and quality of service to veterans and active duty military.聽Middle Georgia State University and聽Central Georgia Technical College聽have been proud to partner together to develop and launch the Georgia Veterans Career Transition Resource Center (VECTR), a state public higher education instructional and support facility specially designed to serve active-duty service personnel and veterans and their family members. Opening in August 2016, VECTR has already served 4,000 veterans and their families.
While TCSG and USG will continue to partner closely in serving those who served our country, Central Georgia Technical College will manage the operations and services provided at VECTR effective July 1, 2017. Middle Georgia State鈥檚 Office of Veteran and Military Services will continue to provide the highest levels of support to military personnel and veterans through programs and services offered on聽its five campuses in the Middle Georgia region聽and聽online.聽

The 22 colleges of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) are Georgia鈥檚 top resource for skilled workers. TCSG offers world-class training in 600 associate degree, diploma and certificate programs to students who are trained on state-of-the-art equipment by instructors who are experts in their fields. The system also houses Georgia鈥檚 Office of Adult Education, which promotes and provides adult literacy and education programs, including the GED庐 testing program, throughout the state. In addition, TCSG partners with companies through Quick Start, the nation鈥檚 top customized workforce training program, and through its individual colleges, who work with local industry to provide workforce and training solutions.
